Alpaca Associations

Alpaca Research Foundation logo

The International Camelid Institute promotes education,m service and collaboration among researchers, breeders, owners, fiber and textile industry professionals and animal enthusiasts worldwide. As an information repository, veterinarians, owners, academicians, regulatory agencies and others can access and obtain essential information.

Alpaca Research Foundation logoThe Mission of the Alpaca Research Foundation is to encourage and support scientific research which benefits the North American alpaca industry, primarily in the areas of alpaca health and husbandry, genetics and fiber.

Suri Network logoThe Suri Network is a group of alpaca owners (and owners to be) that are interested in suri alpacas, their history, breeding and development.

Alpaca Registry logoThe Alpaca Registry is a database housing the genealogy, blood typing and ownership records of alpacas in North America and those of a few alpacas outside this area.

AOBA logoThe official website of the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA). "Everything you need to know about alpacas, fiber and fashion."

These official alpaca associations can provide you with accurate and up-to-date information about alpacas.

Before you decide to become an alpaca owner, I suggest that you "research, research, research." Visit farms; talk to alpaca owners. The more you know before you take the leap into alpaca ownership, the happier you will be.

Alpaca owners should be able to provide you with health and breeding records and offer continuing support and advice.
