Wazzu is the only huacaya at Big Meadow Creek Alpacas. He was one of the first alpacas to arrive at the farm--a donation from Washington State University (WSU--pronounced often as WAZZU!).
He's probably the oldest alpaca on the farm, but we're not sure since we don't know his background or birthday.
But his fiber is great for spinning. A group of spinners belonging to the local Wool Gatherers carded and spun his fiber into yarn. Then we shared making squares that were put together in a lap quilt that we presented to the group's founder.
